Activity 11: What's in your schoolbag?

Why use it? Practice the vocabulary of school supplies. Who it's best for: Children 6-8 years old. Explanation and objectives: The point of this activity is to practice speaking and vocabulary. Materials: A schoolbag. Realia of the school supplies they have learnt about. A bandana Instructions: Divide the group into 2 teams. Team #1 chooses a student to go first. The teacher puts the bandana on the student. The student touches inside the schoolbag and has to guess what is inside. For example: T: What's that? S: This is a... book! If the student makes a mistake, it's the turn of the next team. Keep track of the score of the teams by giving one point per object.

Activity 2: Simon Says

Why use it? Listening practice, vocabulary review and warming up. Who it's best for: Children. Explanation and objectives: The point of this activity is to review previous warm up students at the same time they review vocabulary and practice listening. Materials: Not needed. How to play: The teacher stands in front of the class. Do an action and say "Simon say (action)" The student must copy what you do. Repeat this process using different actions. You can also ommit saying the action and allowing them to say it if they remember. "Simon say (students say the action and imitate the teacher)". You can also pick some students to be Simon and allowing them to say the action. As teacher you must participate.

Activity 10: This is my monster

Why use it? Practice parts of the body, colours and numbers. Who it's best for: Children 6-8 years old. Explanation and objectives: The point of this activity is to practice listening and vocabulary. Materials: Colours Paper Instructions: Students have their colours and papers ready. The teacher explains how the secret monster looks. Students draw the monster according to what the teacher says. For example My monster has got one green eye. My monster has got four red hands. My monster has got three mouths. At the end, students show their drawing of the monster and compare among their friends.
