Activity 2: Simon Says

  • Why use it? Listening practice, vocabulary review and warming up.
  • Who it's best for: Children.

Explanation and objectives:

The point of this activity is to review previous warm up students at the same time they review vocabulary and practice listening.

Materials:

  • Not needed.

How to play:

  • The teacher stands in front of the class.
  • Do an action and say "Simon say (action)" The student must copy what you do.
  • Repeat this process using different actions.
  • You can also ommit saying the action and allowing them to say it if they remember. "Simon say (students say the action and imitate the teacher)".
  • You can also pick some students to be Simon and allowing them to say the action. As teacher you must participate.
