Activity 12: A round of emotions

  • Why use it? Practice the vocabulary of emotions.
  • Who it's best for: Children 6-9 years old. 
Explanation and objectives: 

The point of this activity is to practice vocabulary through a TPR technique.
Materials: 
  • Not needed.
Instructions: 
  • Stand up and make a circle with the students. 
  • The teacher will point each student in order and say an emotion previously seen in class. 
  • The student has to make a gesture according to the emotion the teacher said.
  • For example:
    • T: (points a student) Happy!
    • S: (The student smiles)
    • T: (points another student) Angry! 
    • S: (The student frowns) 
  • If the student makes a mistake, he or she can continue playing.
