Explanation and objectives:
The object of the game is for students to guess the price of everyday items at the grocery store.
Materials:
- A sale flyer. It could be made out or taken from your local supermarket.
- Cover the prices or some items with post-it notes.
Instructions:
- Divide the group into teams of three or four students.
- Demonstrate the game by showing the students one item from the flyer.
- Ask them to work with their partners to try to estimate the price of that item without going over.
- Once the students get the idea, thell them the game will begin, and they will have 30 seconds to discuss possible prices with their team.
- The group which comes the closest to the actual price in the supermarket flyer without going over wins a point.
- Then you can continue to the next item.
